Not in the mood to Blog......................all summer

Well, I just couldn't bring myself, as hard as I would try, to blog our summer activities.  I either felt really busy, too tired, or just didn't feel like getting into the details.  So, in review here is our summer in a nutshell.

Camp, camp, and more camps!
The kids were busy all summer long going to soccer camp, scout camp, dance camp, girl's camp and EFY.  I think there was one, maybe two weeks that we were all actually at home all at once this whole summer.
Sadie went to UofU for EFY with her besties Annie, Hayley & Amy and ran into a childhood (elementary school) friend, Justin Manning, that moved away several years ago.  They are now pen pals and talk all the time.  She loves getting to know him better.  They are planning to meet at EFY together again this summer.

This year was a crazy year for all of us in a medical sense.  We are ALL generally very healthy and do not go to the doctor hardly ever.  Well, not this summer!  I had a random incident while on vacation in Jackson Hole, WY in July.  I was riding my bike (no, I didn't fall!) and my lung spontaneously collapsed.  Without going into the details, it hurt like crazy and we went to the ER.  I was admitted into the hospital for two nights after I had a chest tube inserted in my ribs to inflate the lung.  It took several weeks before I felt normal again.  I hope that NEVER happens again.

In August Sadie had her tailbone removed.  She broke it almost two years ago and it never healed right.  It was a very long and painful recovery.  She had some complications with an allergic reaction to the interior stitches which set her back about three weeks.  She is doing great now and back to dance.  She is getting ready to travel to Florida with her dance team for the National Dance Championship Competition in February of 2011.  It should be aired on ESPN, so guys, if you are watching sports and you are interrupted by a dance program, watch for Sadie!

Since Sadie was already down and I had to stay home from work to care for her I decided to kill two birds with one stone.  Taylor needed his wisdom teeth out and this was a good time, I thought.  He got so swollen and I felt so bad for him.  He was down for about five days.  I was getting worn out.  I didn't really think it would be that big of a deal to care for them both.  I was definitely WRONG!  We all got though it but it was a tough month for everyone.

We are all very healthy now and looking forward to a new year of better health.

work hard, play hard, rider harder.
