It is always a great day when the kids are willingly and cheerfully helping around the house. I am grateful for them and all that we accomplished on this beautiful Saturday morning. Both Taylor and Sadie despise yard work. I love it when I have the time to do it, it brings me a great sense of productivity and satisfaction. Taylor was busy raking up the backyard while Sadie and I tackled several patches of noxious weeds. I love spring and the beauty of new growth and flowers. My tulips are blooming beautifully but not in the abundance I had anticipated so I bought a van full of more flowers I am anxious to plant this week.
I am grateful for the words of the prophet and general authorities that I learn from as I listen to General Conference. Their thoughts and stories are full of inspiration and hope to me. I am grateful for my trials that bring me growth but more importantly for prayer and my faith that help me through my learning process. I enjoy listening to conference in my earphones as I pull weeds and as I ride my bike. I find that if I stay busy and alert I focus on the words of the speakers and get more out of the message. I have no distractions when I listen while I do these things. If I sit in front of my television I fall asleep or get distracted by other things that I feel need to be done. I am grateful for the good weather that allowed me to enjoy all of these activities this weekend.
I am grateful for good friends and the time we enjoy together around a dinner table of fabulous food. I am grateful for my good health that allows me to do all these things that I enjoy.
work hard, play hard, ride harder.

I love listening to conference while doing something to keep me focused. It is so inspiring to hear from our church leaders. I love to hear the talks and make a plan for how I can implement their messages into my life. I am jealous of your spring weather. I am so looking forward summer here. It is better than anywhere I have ever been.
Wow! The yard is looking good and I am loving the new bike...did I see gears on there? Wasn't it a fantastic day for riding? Jason got back on the road bike today for a short, easy 14 miles, he is healing really well!
