Taylor's 15th Birthday Bash Sledding in Veyo

There was so much snow all around us that Taylor opted to do something different this year to celebrate his birthday. I loaded up all our snow gear, sleds, snowboards, lot of steaming hot cocoa, and a vehicle full of boys. We headed for Veyo, UT which is just 30 minutes out o town towards Pine Valley. We found an awesome gravel pit perfect for a solid day of sledding in fresh snow.
Paul, Konley, Taylor, Cody, and Tadd
The boys played on these hills for over three hours. I climbed to the top of the cinder cone hill and had one good run all the way down. Taylor and Paul followed me up. It was a good climb, it got my heart rate up and I was definitely heated up by the time I reached the top. You can see our tracks all the way to the top in the photo above. The boys were worn out after that climb. Each of us only had one injury coming down! By the way, we were the first and only group up to the top that day. We blazed through fresh virgin powder. Because there wasn’t already a path down the hill we each hit some big boulders on the way down. (Probably why we were the only ones up there!) Paul hit the rocks and flipped, landing on another rock on his stomach, hard. Ouch:( He stayed low key the rest of the day. I am glad he felt a little better by the time we got home. Taylor hit his knee on a rock and I flew over several rocks landing on my tailbone. It still feels bruised two weeks later. That is pretty much why I only had one good run for the day. I realize my body is too fragile to want to do any further damage. I enjoyed watching the boys have fun.
Taylor and Paul at the top of the cinder cone hill. The snow was about two feet deep.
Cody built an ice cave while he waited for us to come down the top of the hill.
Konley, his smile shows how much fun he is having.
This was a great run for Cody. He was always blazing new trails and going off steep ledges.
Tadd made a big "splash" in the snow on this one.
I enjoyed spending the day with these crazies!

we grow old because we stop playing.”

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, TAYLOR!
Side note: April, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my new beanie! You will see it in future photos. It keeps my ears warm and cozy. But, I do think it looks better on you. Thanks!

work hard, play hard, rider harder.
