Girl's Camp @ Te-ah Campground Navajo Lake

Bloomington 6th Ward Girl's Camp 2009

I was the camp director this year for our ward camp. It was a lot of work but I love to be in the wilderness and it was so much fun with the girls and their great new leaders (who are several of my very dear friends!)

The first day the girl's hiked 3 miles round trip up to this overlook of Zion Nat'l Park and Kolob and then back down into our campground. We camped at Te-ah Campground just off of Navajo Lake on Cedar Mountain.
We took all the girl's on a bike ride around Navajo Lake. We broke up into a few different groups depending on their riding level. All of the girl's rode around at least half of the lake on single track. Some rode back on the road (5 miles) and others rode back on the single track (5-6 miles). They all did a good job and had a lot of fun. I was proud of them all.
Lacy, Sadie and Jessica went fishing. All they caught was one little minow. They couldn't decide how to divide it into three to eat it!
It rained on our camp a few times but it was pleasant most of the time. None of the tents flooded, no one froze in the night, everyone's gear stayed dry and the temperatures didn't dip too low.
We had two nights of entertaining activities. The first night everyone did a skit and the second night everyone did a lip sync. This is our 1st & 2nd year girls doing their lip sync - Fun in the Summertime.
Our YCL's entertained us with a fun song and dance -
This was the leaders lip sync to a Donnie & Marie song (can't remember the name!)
The men looked glam with their hawaiian gear on
Jessica, Liza, Annie, Megan, McKenzie and Shae - Tent Buddies
Our group at the Cascade Falls overlook. The hike was closed so we all posed for photos at this overlook for at least 10 minutes! The girl's LOVE the camera.
I'm looking forward to visiting camp next year!
work hard, play hard, rider harder.
